Regeneration and Housing Board
The Regeneration and Housing Board will aim to make sure that housing and regeneration priorities and initiatives in this region are coordinated to make the strongest possible contribution to sustainable economic growth, through a focus on improving economic outcomes in deprived areas, and the creation of sustainable places to live, work and invest.
What will the Board do?
The Board will:
- Broker agreement on priorities for regeneration and housing supply and demand, to feed into the development of the Integrated Regional Strategy
- Ensure delivery of housing and regeneration activity is coordinated and coherent
- Promote development opportunities and ensure the region's profile in housing and regernation is advanced nationally and internationally
- Deliver outcomes currently in the Regional Housing Strategy, including reducing homelessness, reducing fuel poverty, improving access to housing for vulnerable groups and achieving dependency in the private sector
- Provide advice to Government on use of the Single Regional Housing Pot and the Gypsy and Traveller site grant, and monitor the delivery of Single Pot activity.
Who's involved?
The Chair of the Regeneration and Housing Board will be nominated by Local Government Yorkshire and Humber, the Deputy Chair by Yorkshire Forward. Other members will include housing portfolio members and regeneration portfolio members from each sub-region.
