Regional Work and Skills Partnership Board
The Regional Work and Skills Partnership Board will aim to maximise the contribution of the region's labour force to sustainable economic growth by improving skills outcomes and productivity on a demand-led basis.
What will the Board do?
The Board will:
- Broker agreement on priorities for work and skills to feed into the development of the Integrated Regional Strategy
- Maintain a clear and informed view of the skills needs of the regional economy going forward, including geographical variations, and of the needs of employers within it
- Achieve policy alignment and coherence of action to meet those needs, through discussion and agreed follow up action by partner agencies and sectors.
Who's involved?
The Chair of the Regional Work and Skills Partnership Board will be nominated by Yorkshire Forward, the Deputy Chair by Local Government Yorkshire and Humber. Other members will include: private and public sector employers, local authorities, and representatives from trade unions, the third sector, education and training providers, and the regional directors from the LSC and Jobcentre Plus.
