East Riding Council - Bridlington Spa Refurbishment Project

East Riding Council - Bridlington Spa Refurbishment Project

The Bridlington Spa Refurbishment Project forms an important part of the Bridlington Regeneration Strategy. The aims of the project were to create a 21st century facility that retained the character of the Art Deco main concert hall and the Edwardian Theatre but also provided additional facilities that would accommodate a wide spectrum of activities including corporate conferences, trade fairs, indoor sporting events, and a range of entertainment, theatre and music events.

The Team were committed to delivering this project working to industry best practice methods and OGC Common Minimum Standards.  They showed high levels of professionalism and commitment, respecting and working with all team members. The team committed much personal time “after hours” to ensure successful delivery. Continuous customer consultation, efficiency savings of £600,000 and corporate key areas of sustainability, equality and consultation have all been successfully delivered by the team.
They have made an outstanding contribution to the Regeneration of Bridlington. The team remained focussed on delivering a substantial and highly complex construction project whist not losing sight of their customers brief and requirements. Immense technical difficulties encountered along the way did not detracted from the Team’s drive. The project team were robustly challenged but positively exploited these challenges with dedication, teamwork, enthusiasm, professionalism and good humour. They are very worthy contenders for team of the year.
