Kirklees Council - Kirklees Partnership Outreach Project
Staff in Kirklees realised that their outreach program could be delivered in a more joined up and effective way, and formed a new partnership to deliver a number of benefits. This new partnership was called the Kirklees Partnership Outreach Service (KPOS).
The benefits of KPOS include being able to share scarce resources when organising public events, ensuring partners are aware of all opportunities to market their services and through sharing promotional ideas and tools.
Since the partnership was introduced in 2005, membership from partner organisations has grown more than ten-fold, attendance and the number of events have grown six-fold.
More importantly, KPOS helps ensure customers receive a joined up approach to receiving information about various services provided by the council, the health service, fire, police and voluntary sectors.
Over the past 12 months, the partnership has achieved some particularly impressive work, through organising a very successful Carer's Week event, and helping the Revenues and Benefits service achieve its target of achieving almost 2,000 new benefits take up cases. Each member of the partnership has reported increased take up and improved knowledge about the services provided by other partners.
