Supporting Elected Members in their leadership role on the health and wellbeing agenda

LGYH are organising a one day seminar that will provide the opportunity to consider the rapidly changing political and institutional landscape for local authorities and health providers. The Health and Social Care Bill are currently in the amendment stages and working towards completing their final legislative stages through Parliament. The legislation, coupled with major policy changes present both challenges and opportunities for improved services.

This one day event is very timely and will provide the headline issues towards a shared understanding. The key areas that will be presented on the day are:

• National Policy context
• Public involvement in Health & Wellbeing
• Roles and responsibilities in relation to Health and Wellbeing Boards
• Developing relationships with stakeholders
• Transition of Public Health into Local Authorities.

• Scrutiny and public involvement in the Health and Well-Being Agenda
• How GP’s want Local authorities/elected members to engage with them.
• Health and Well-Being Boards – Roles and Responsibilities /Governance issues
