Regional Joint Machinery

Together with the regional Trades Unions (UNISON, T&G and GMB) LGYH operates regional negotiating, conciliation and disputes resolution machinery for employees covered by the National Joint Council negotiating machinery.

Yorkshire and Humber Regional Council
The Regional Council brings together elected members and Trades Unions representatives from the 22 local authorities and four fire authorities in the region.

Local Disputes
In the event of a dispute relating to terms and conditions between employers and the trades unions which cannot be resolved at local level, the matter may be referred at the request of both parties to the Regional Council for consideration. Following such a request the matter will be referred to the Joint Secretaries for conciliation/mediation.
